Thomas Gansch Blasmusik Supergroup

Storm warning! For several years now, brass music has been undergoing a veritable Renaissance. Trumpet mastermind Thomas Gansch can claim some credit for this as with Mnozil Brass he has regularly delivered brass band highlights that are technically perfect and cunningly played. Gansch now proves that he still has plenty of breath left with his supergroup: “It was a childhood dream. My brother and I have been talking about it for 30 years. We wanted to get the best people together to do this,” the trumpeter enthuses. Along with colleagues from the Egerländer Musikanten, Da Blechhauf’n, LaBrassBanda and the Vienna Philharmonic he now blasts the ears of the audiences with classic pieces of film music. In their current programme they pay tribute to Hollywood greats such as Korngold, Morricone and John Williams, running through every register from maximum wind speed with a shiny aerophone to some gentle woodwind breezes and a storm of percussion. A must for all brass fans.
